German squad for SC world cup

A lot of German swimmers listed for the SC world cup which starts in Dubai next weekend.

Special interest will of course be bestowed upon Paul Biedermann, the WR holder (1:42). 

More interesting, of course, will be Ian Thorpe though. But good luck to the German team!

Link: Swimming NZ high performance manager Jan Cameron to resign today


After swimming NZ president and chairman of the board Murray Coulter resigned, the high performance manager now also bids farewell with the following words:

“My departure is as of next Friday and I’m sad to be leaving pre-London, but I wish all of New Zealand’s swimmers the very best.

“I’m certainly going to miss being involved with the high performance team working toward the London Olympics.

“But, really, I think it’s time to consider some options.”

So is Grant Hackett jumping onto the comeback bandwagon? According to swimnews.com that is a definite “Nay” from the Olympic Gold Medallist. Since he hung up his equipment he is now a director of the Regal Funds Management hedge fund for the Westpac Banking corporation. Not lacking being passionate about that, he rules out coming back to swimming.
